The season premiered on March 16, 2017 and consisted of eight episodes. Production began in June 2016 in Budapest[2] and concluded in November 2016.[3] It roughly adapted the plots of the Lords of the North and Sword Song, the third and fourth novels in Cornwell's The Saxon Stories.[4]
